From 'Two Days in May' : Chapman, the Dawlish photographer, captured this view of the gauge conversion works in progress at his local station, looking towards Parson’s Tunnel in the left background. New cross sleepers have been provided for the points but the baulk road was initially retained on plain track. John Alsop collection
