12 May 1873  Surface damage at Pastor’s Hill and Little Brockhollands Estate for Barnett and Goodrich Langham.
Present proprietor of colliery about to sell it.
Damage done to land of William Savage Poole, Pastor’s Hill.
Level, tip and air shaft.

20 June 1873  Mr. Ruck, present owner, dispute with Langham.  Langham throwing all difficulties he can in the way of working this colliery.

20 August 1874  Forest of Dean Iron Co. requesting definition of boundaries between Park Hill and Uncertainty.

11 November 1874  United Collieries Ltd.  Being the only parties interested in Uncertainty Colliery.  Manager Mr. R. H. Dunning.
Removal of barrier at Park Hill would have a detrimental effect on the deep heading and main road of Uncertainty.

6 February 1875  Damage in roadways of Uncertainty from encroachment of barrier by workings of Park Hill Level.

9 February 1878  Geo. W. Williams.  Some few days since I commenced to open an old level on the Uncertainty near Pastors Hill farm.  Ordered to stop.

19 October 1899  Edward C. Pitt Esq. and representatives of Nathanial Pitt, Cainscross, Stroud.  Had not paid rent.

24 february 1900  Colliery such a serious loss to me and other members of family.  My father involved us in difficulties in spending so much money to get coal out but found hardly any to be seen.  To surrender E. C. Pitt.
The late Mr. N. C. Pitt purchased colliery on 31 December 1891 and commenced to work it soon afterwards.

14 December 1926  Granted to committee of Free Miners.  Conveyance of Uncertainty No. 2 to Dyson Hirst and North Hirst of The Breezes, Bream for £460.

14 December 1932  To surrender.
