9 July 1845  Granted to George Baldwyn and Henry Davis.  Probable cost of winning coal £3,000 and the annual produce 3,000 tons.

Christmas 1848  Given up.

27 November 1860  Application Mr. Edwin Lewis for a re-grant.

3 April 1866  When I bought the Morganís Folly No.3 gale which underlies the New Engine Colliery I quite believed Brazilly part of grant.  But this to Two Brothers.  Recently given up to Crown.  Please grant - could be worked by deepening the pit on New Engine as I am increasingly anxious to make a firstí.  J. 2 May 1866  Lewis transferred to Corbett.

29 July 1871  Registered owner Mr. James Fletcher Corbett, The Midland & Yorkshire Coal Co., Derby, and James Taylor of Lapington House, Redland nr. Bristol (the mortgagee)
Gales granted 24 July 1866.

8 September 1880  No working, though a new pit has been sunk to the coal and a considerable sum of money spent.

8 November 1880  Shaft to Brazilly was completed about end of December 1875 but no coal worked.  Under Coal Mines Regulations Act two shafts are required to be sunk before coal can be worked.  Doubt whether the act of sinking a shaft alone was a bona-fide attempt at opening
