7 July 1871  Granted to Henry Phipps, of Yorkley, coal proprietor, a gale bounded on the south-west side by the north-east fence of Oaken Hill Inclosure, on the north-east by a line drawn parallel to and 500 yards north-east of the said fence, and on the land, or rise side by the cropping of the coal and on the deep side by a line on the Smart Delf vein drawn perpendicularly below the centre line of the Severn & Wye Railway & Canal Coís Railway No. 4, except that against the south-west side a 10 yard barrier to be left and on the deep side a 20 yard barrier.
