Trenchard

7 February 1843  Granted to Jonathan Marfell, of the Hawthorns, for a pit situate in and on the north-east side of a field called Beechen Field the property of Mr. George Jones of Beeches Farm, near Berry Hill, to get the coal from the Trenchard veins.  Bounded on the south by Victoria Colliery, on the north by the fence of Mailscot Wood, on the deep side by a level to be driven from the point where a pit sunk on the gale mark will strike the coal, and on the land side by the cropping out of the coal.  Rendering & paying etc.
