21 April 1863  Finding it necessary to have grounds for new pits to work our awards of Resolution & Safeguard.  Also a railway for transit.  Henry Crawshay & Sons.  Edwin Crawshay.

28 April 1863  Messr's Crawshay's application for a license to make a Broad Guage Railway for the use of Resolution & Safeguard upon which it is intended to sink new shafts.
