8 January 1889  Prince of Wales, Flour Mill & Princess Royal, all property of Mr. Richard Watkins. Prince of Wales opened but not being worked.  If barriers removed and good pumps put in at Park Gutter could work all three through pits and Dyke's Level.  The Bowson Pits of the Princess Royal could also be worked by means of a cut-out from the Flour Mill.  Mr. Watkins also working Park Hill and Little Brockhollands Colliery and wants to cut a cart way through the barrier to act as a wind way.
He will raise coal from the Bowson Pit and from a small shaft recently sunk on the Flour Mill gale.
Good pumping plant to Flour Mill - he would move it to Park Gutter.
