c1833 Lucks-all Colliery
Is worked by Messrs. Meek, Morgan
and Co. - seven partners in all, and all free miners. Is drained
by a small Engine and Tubs at present, but are preparing to drain it with
Pumps to be attached to the Engine.
The present working Pit, is 76 yards
deep to the High Delf vein - the Engine Pit, will be 80 yards deep, to
the same Vein - Have about 150 yards of Breadth. The workings are
limited by Bennett and Cos. Gale to the South, and by Nofold Gale to the
North at 70 yards.
The Slack is taken out of the Coals
but the Round are sold to the Country at 7/- per ton. The vein rises
4 inches in the yard.
1841 to Timothy Bennett of
Mitcheldean, corn-dealer, as claiming through Free Miners. Also New
Victory.
