Lonk Level

15 June 1842  Granted to Richard Smith and John Nelmes of Berry Hill in equal parts for a level at the Lonk, near Joyford, formerly known by the name of the Lonk Level, to get coal from Coleford High Delf.  Bounded by Society.

1885  Bankruptcy sale.

May 1888  Bought by Charles Goold but not worked then to William and Thomas Howells and Timothy Evans.  Also Patches Colliery.

1898  Sold to Benjamin Young.

1900  Sold to Amos Brown.

1901  Sold to Sydney & Charles Howles, Herbert Miles and Sydney Cooper.

1914  Sold to Henry Godwin and George Teague.  Then Teague to Godwin.

1921  Bought by George Hughes then to Alfred Edward Hughes & Thomas W. King.

1926  To Alfred Edward Hughes also Patches.

1944  Sold to Phil Humpries also had New Found Out.
