17 February 1846  to Henry Jenkins, of Milkwall and James Thomas of Coalway Lane End for a level situate about 20 yards north-east of the turnpike road near the Futterel, in an old level, to get the coal from the Trenchard veins.

25 May 1893   Regrant to Wm Blanch, Futterhill.  Very thin outcrop seam 6" - 12 or 15".

6 June 1898  Stephen and Wm Blanch ‘We have been working this gale for the last two years, only 4 - 5 tons of large coal won, rest very soft.

2 July 1902  Forfeited by Stephen Blanch.

23 December 1929  The Firebrick Manufacturers Ltd. Milkwall Brickworks, registered owners.  Not working gale.

Milkwall Brickworks (1933) Ltd. to surrender Milkwall No.3 and Gorsty Knoll No.3 Colliery gales, clay licences and brickworks on 20 December 1939 and 30 January 1940
Milkwall No.3 leased by Forest of Dean Stonefirms

1945  Forest of Dean Stone Firms registered owners not intending to renew licences.

31 July 1946  Gorsty Knoll No.3 and Milkwall No.3 conveyed from Forest of Dean Stone Firms to Messrs. Fred Nash & Sons and William Powles.
