Miners did, after the 9th April 1832 and before the passing of the Act
make application for the gale now called Coal Pit Hill Level Colliery
(but
which application was not granted) they however commenced work.
Coal in the Coleford High Delf - commencing at a point where the
present
pit on Bridewell Tump struck the coal - a level to be driven.
