From In the Showroom: Noel Macklin and the Invicta Successor to the 2½ Litre Invicta was the six-cylinder 3-Litre which was introduced for 1926. It had a Meadows engine which was a modified truck unit suitable for car use which proved successful in competition. At the time of its introduction an alternative (LC - large chassis) to the original chassis (SC, small chassis) was available to accommodate the greater weight and heightened performance compared to the 2½ Litre model. The photograph was taken in Boulogne and depicts Violet Cordery standing alongside the elegant and sporting car. It is possible Miss Cordery was on her way to the Monthléry track near Paris where she took the 5,000 miles record. National Motor Museum
