From 'The Steyning Line' : A closer study of the water tower and footbridge, with the line curving away northwards towards Bramber in the background. This was the most important of the intermediate stations on the branch and the size and quality of the buildings indicate that. In October 1961, the station was decorated with flags and bunting during celebrations for the centenary of the line, and an ex-LB&SCR ‘Terrier’ tank engine was placed on the goods shed road. Note the Kodak film poster on the end wall of the shelter on the Down platform.
