From: Gas Works Narrow Gauge To cope with the very sharp curves on the internal three-foot gauge railway at Bradford Road Gas Works, Manchester Andrew Barclay supplied a pair of 2-2-0WT in 1916-7. They were numbered 3 and 4 and worked until 1940 and 1948 respectively. Despite their unusual design they were greatly preferred to a petrol locomotive supplied at the same time.Andrew Neale collection
