27 June 1843  Granted a gale in equal parts to Emanuel Whitson, of Littledean Woodside, William Elton of Upper Bilson and John Meredith of Littledean Hill, for a pit situate at a place on the east side of Holly Hill Inclosure and about 20 yards from the gate, to get the coal from the Twenty Inches vein.
